Or just the next winter storm that takes out the power lines! These were so easy to set up (with your own jars) and I lit them on the first try. I thought they would be hard to light based on a YouTube DIY video for making them with copper wire. It was no problem at all. The DIY was cool but by the time you buy the copper wire and tubing and the tools to create a flange etc. I just decided to buy these from Lemans through Amazon. If you have that stuff on hand, go for it!UPDATE: these are still brilliant (ha!), however I should have mentioned I used a lighter I picked up from a gas station that is actually more of a mini torch. This made them easy to light. To light them today with a regular lighter, I expressed (squished) some of the oil out of the end of the wick, trimmed it and the lit it. You are burning the oil vapor, if the wick is soaked in oil, it doesn't light without the torch. Still, glad for this purchase. Also, I cut the wicks in half, easier to manage in the jar.
